What are the benefits of a Broadband and TV deal?

Bundling your broadband and TV can have plenty of benefits you wouldn't receive if you paid for the two services separately.

  • Firstly, bundling both services is typically cheaper than paying for them separately. We often see providers incentivising customers to sign-up for a bundle with enticing discounts, vouchers and other incentives.

  • It's much easier to manage. Having both services under one provider means receiving one bill, payment date, and point of contact.

Before you bundle your broadband and TV, you must consider a few things. Firstly, are you going to get value from your TV package? If you primarily use streaming services such as Netflix or Disney+, you probably won't get as much value from your TV service.

Secondly, you'll be under contract for both TV and Broadband. This will make it extremely difficult for you to change your TV or Broadband provider during your contract. So if you were planning on changing your provider shortly, it might be best to hold off on a bundle deal.

Which Providers Offer Broadband and TV Bundles?

NOW TV

NOW TV offers flexible packages you can stream on over 60 devices, including mobile, TV and desktop. You can choose from their Entertainment, Sports and Cinema memberships which you can cancel anytime. So if you're a football fan and the season is over, go ahead and cancel your sports membership until the next season starts.

NOW TV's Entertainment membership allows you to stream up to 16 live channels and catch up on their on-demand content from as little as £9.99 per month. You can pick from Sky Atlantic, Sky Max, Comedy Central, Sky Documentaries and more.

The Cinema membership offers over 1000 on-demand movies, including Sky Original movies. It starts from £9.99 per month; however, you can add NOW TV Boost for any extra £5 per month, allowing you to enjoy its movies ad-free and in Full HD.

The Sports Membership provides access to all 11 Sky Sports Channels and over 1000 hours of on-demand documentaries and highlights. The Sports Membership starts from £25 per month. However, daily memberships are available, although we think they're not worth the price. You can add NOW TV Boost for £5 per month, giving you a Full HD viewing experience and immersive surround sound.

Sky

When you think about bundling your Broadband and TV, it's probably Sky that comes to mind. Their TV offerings are arguably the best in the business.

You can customise the Sky Q packages to suit you. With no add-ons, Sky Q will offer you 250 free-to-air channels; however, you can choose to upgrade from the Lite package, and if you do, you'll get 350 channels, 100 of which are not on Freeview. If that's not enough, Sky offers plenty more add-ons. You can pick from Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Sky Kids, BT Sport, HD and Ultra HD, Multiscreen and much more.

The latest offer from Sky is Sky Glass. Sky Glass is a 4K TV available in various colours and sizes. You can pick from small (43"), medium (55") and large (65"). The colours available include Anthracite Black, Ocean Blue, Racing Green, Dusky Pink and Ceramic White. You can choose to pay for the TV over a 48 or 24-month period, subject to a credit check. Or you can choose to pay in full.

BT

BT has a wide range of TV packages to suit various viewer needs. You can pick from 5 flexible TV packages: Sport, Big Sport, Entertainment, Big Entertainment and VIP and you can switch between these TV packages at any point during your 24-month contract.

The BT Entertainment packages include a NOW TV membership, allowing you access to popular channels such as Sky Atlantic. Of course, you can pick up BT Sport, and if you go with the Big Sport package, you'll receive access to the 11 Sky Sports channels.

When you sign-up for BT TV, you'll receive a BT TV Box. The box can record up to 600 hours of content. It comes equipped with Dolby Atmos sound and is 4k HDR enabled. Read more on BT.

Virgin Media

Virgin Media has a strong TV offering, allowing you to choose from Sports, Cinema and Entertainment packages. The Virgin TV 360 Box is 4K HDR ready, where you can watch, stream and catch up on your favourite shows.

You can switch to the Virgin TV GO app when you're out. The app allows you to watch your favourite channels seamlessly from your favourite devices. You can register up to 5 devices and stream simultaneously on 2.
