About Sky Broadband
Sky has been a household name for many years and has grown to become the second largest internet provider in the UK. When you first hear Sky, you might think about their TV, broadband or both, after all, their satellite TV is arguably the best in the UK, and their broadband is a premium option in the market.
Sky offer deals on Mobile, TV and broadband. They're a great provider for bundling your services or if you're looking for a more premium service.
Sky Broadband Packages
You can expect excellent benefits by default regardless of which Sky broadband deal you choose.
Sky Broadband Shield - Sky Broadband Shield is an online protection tool designed to help make the internet a safer place for your entire family. Sky Broadband Shield will give you malware protection and parental controls.
Speed Guarantee - When placing your order with Sky, they will issue you a guaranteed minimum download speed. If your speed drops below your guaranteed download speed for at least 3 days in a row in a 30-day period, you can claim a credit. You can choose from one month's Broadband & Talk credit, change your broadband package at no extra cost or cancel at any time with no early cancellation fees during your minimum term.
Wall-to-Wall WiFi Guarantee - Sky will credit your account with one month's broadband subscription if you cannot get 3Mb/s in every room of your home. Sky's wall-to-wall WiFi guarantee covers you if you have fibre or full-fibre broadband, you're in contract, your broadband's been active for more than 14 days, you have a Sky Broadband Hub, and you don't pay for Sky Broadband Boost with WiFi.
Sky Superfast Broadband - This is Sky's FTTC (fibre-to-the-cabinet) deal. The average download speeds experienced by Sky's customers on this package are 59Mb/s. We highly recommend this package because it will meet most household demands.
Sky Ultrafast Broadband - This is Sky's first Full Fibre deal. Sky estimates its customer's average download speeds to be 145Mb/s. A Full Fibre deal will meet almost every household's demand. Unfortunately, its coverage across the UK is low, but if it is available to you, we highly recommend it to future-proof your home.
Sky Gigafast Broadband - This is Sky's fastest Full Fibre offer. The average speeds for this deal are 900Mb/s, which should be more than enough for almost every household. Unfortunately, just like Sky's Ultrafast Broadband, coverage across the UK is low, so if you're lucky enough to have Gigfast Broadband in your area, we recommend you take it.
Sky Q
Sky Q is the latest iteration in the TV we all know and love. Without the Sky TV package, Sky Q provides over 250 Freeview channels. However, you can add Sky TV to access an extra 100 channels that aren't available on Freeview.
Sky offers much flexibility with its TV extras and build-your-own feature. There are plenty of add-ons to choose from, such as Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Sky Kids and BT sport. You can upgrade your viewing experience with the Multiscreen, HD, and Ultra HD add-ons.
Sky Glass
Sky Glass is Sky's latest product. It's a streaming TV with Sky built-in. You won't require a dish or box because your favourite movies and shows are streamed over WiFi.
Aesthetically, Sky Glass is quite different to other TVs on the market. It comes in various colours to choose from, including Anthracite Black, Ocean Blue, Racing Green, Dusky Pink and Ceramic White. You can choose between small (or 43"), medium (53") and large (65"). You can pay for Sky Glass over 24 or 48 months, subject to a credit check, or you can pay in full when you order.
Sky Mobile
Sky Mobile went live to customers in January 2017 with the promise of offering flexible mobile tariffs. A unique proposition by Sky is the Sky Piggy Bank. Any unused data you have gets rolled over monthly into your Sky Piggy Bank. You can use your Sky Piggy Bank to top up your data if you're running low or cash it in for a range of rewards, including money off of new phones, tablets and accessories in the Sky store.
Unlike other broadband providers, Sky doesn't only offer SIM-only deals. You'll be able to choose a phone tariff from big-name brands such as Apple, Samsung, Oppo and Nokia. Other great benefits include that Sky will not price-rise you mid-contract, and streaming on all Sky Apps doesn't use any of your data.
